This post is to make you all aware of a situation that has developed over the last few day

Please note: We're also posting this to try to put an end to the rumors and erroneous information that is being spread by people who have no knowledge of what's really going on.

Here are the real facts:

1. On Monday, September 28th, we were notified by one of our employees that she had tested positive for COVID-19. She told us she hadn't been feeling well but thought that she was beginning to feel better. We advised her to follow CDC and PA Health Department Guidelines for quarantining herself and suggested to her that she should stay home for the rest of the week and to NOT return for at least 1 week (assuming that she were no longer contagious}.

2. We immediately informed our employees of the occurrence of a the positive test result; encouraged them to give consider serious consideration to getting a COVID test (free at Rite-Aid and other major drug outlets) as soon as possible; we also informed anyone who was uncomfortable coming to work would certainly be able to do so with no fear of any retribution.

3. We then notified the PA Health Department about the infected employee and asked for their advice as to what we were required to do. They informed us that we would NOT be required to shutdown the business and that we should bring in a vendor to sanitize our kitchen and customer dining area. They also told us that none of our employees would be REQUIRED to quarantine UNLESS they were within 6 feet of the infected employee for a steady 15 minute period.

4. We then hired two firms to sanitize our facility. They have already sanitized twice and will continue to sanitize on a weekly basis.

5. None of our other employees were symptomatic but several of them decided to get a COVID test. We've since been advised that 3 additional employees have tested positive but continue to exhibit no symptoms. We gave them the same advice that we had given to our first positive employee and they are all quarantining. We've notified the PA Health Department about the additional positive tests and we continue to follow their guidance.

6. We have been notified by a number of employees that they are not comfortable with coming to work for awhile because they are concerned for themselves and/or vulnerable family members. We told each of them that we understand, told them that we would try to keep all employees informed of progress, and asked them to notify us when they were ready to return so that we would be able to reintegrate them into our staffing schedules.

7. Obviously, we COULD have decided to close the restaurant immediately until all conditions returned to normal. But we decided to continue to try to support both our Dine-In and Take-Out operations so that our customers would not be disappointed and so that our employees would be able to continue earn their livings.

However, since our staffing roster has now been substantially reduced, we've decided to return to ONLY Take-Out for the next 7 days.

So, effective Saturday, October 3 through Friday, October 9th we will not be offering Dine-In services. We are hoping that by the end of next week our COVID positive employees will have been released from quarantine and our other concerned employees will be comfortable to return to work
